I have never seen an error message pop, and after every different attempt I get the exact same results as laid out in the initial post. So it doesn't look like the app has even "crashed" technically. I've also run HLL_BugReportUploader.exe which generated a log file that doesn't look very helpful. Ran Windows troubleshooter (clearly I'm desperate)

I should also mention that I'm running Windows 10 and trying compatibility mode for older versions of Windows also hasn't worked.
